It’s Denton County’s most spectacular night, and it has been for more than 40 years! UNT’s beautiful Apogee Stadium is the place for live music, followed by an awesome array of fireworks that light up the sky. The event is FREE, but donations are gladly accepted by our energetic “Bucket Brigade” before, during and after the show.


The Denton Kiwanis Presents the 4th of July Fireworks Show. Gates open at 6 p.m. Parking in all lots is $10. NO outside food or drinks inside the stadium. A variety of concessions will be available for purchase. NO lawn chairs are allowed in the stadium.


Liberty Run 5k Run/1 Mile Walk

The entry fee includes a race tech shirt (S-XXL.) 6:30 a.m. check-in; 7:30 a.m., race begins. Race day registration is $30 per person. Packet pick up is June 30 and July 3.

Event highlights include a NEW adult hot dog eating contest, youth whipped cream eating contest, and free family fun during the Jubilee!

  • 9 a.m.–Registration begins for the 9:30 a.m. Adult Lucky Horseshoe Tournament.
  • 10 a.m.-12 p.m.–Free kid’s carnival in the Civic Center.
  • 11 a.m.–Free family fun begins, including the 2nd Annual Hot Dog Eating Competition.
  • 11 a.m.–Senior Center luncheon, $3/person with music by the Young at Heart band.
  • 12 p.m.-6 p.m.–Civic Center Pool, $1/person
